The Tamil Nadu Department for Welfare of Differently Abled has announced a significant pay hike for special educators and physiotherapists working in NGO-run institutions. This move aims to recognize their dedicated service and align their pay with inclusive education standards.

Effective Date: September 1, 2025
New Salary Structure:
Monthly honorarium increased from ₹18,000 to ₹25,000.
Beneficiaries:
1,015 special educators and physiotherapists in NGO-run special schools.
369 professionals in early intervention and day-care centers.
Financial Allocation:
Additional expenditure of ₹11.62 crore sanctioned for the 2025–26 fiscal year.
